The HR Advisor provides (upon request and by own initiative) strong HR support to Managers and employees of Boskalis. In addition, you will provide support to the HR Manager when required. You will assist in providing an effective and efficient HR service to the Corporate team, Contract Team and Vessel Managers.

Main Tasks

  • Works closely with the Manager’s to ensure adherence to HR policies and procedures across all contracts
  • Responsible for all HR related matters across both businesses, including partnering with Contract Manager’s on implementing best practice of employment law, resourcing and relations.
  • Advising and supporting Contract Managers on disciplinary, grievance and other statutory procedures
  • Ensuring that all new employees are managed into the business in line with company procedures and issued with the relevant contract of employment and induction information
  • Working with Departmental and Contract Managers to keep absence levels at acceptable levels, ensuring that the Attendance at Work Policy implemented across all contracts
  • Responsible for the whole Recruitment Cycle and working closely with Managers to attract the best candidates for roles.
  • First point of contact with the Occupational Health Advisor, recording all matters and advising on long-term absences
  • Managing relevant information for internal reports for Business Sector Managers from Business Results (Figures on Turnover, Absence figures and recruitment)
  • Proactively supporting Managers on high level case work.
  • Working closely with the HR Manager on casework and ensuring best practise across the workforce.
  • Occasional travel to various sites across the UK to support Line Managers
  • Maintaining and building a professional relationship with the Local Universities to attract graduates into the business.
  • Going that extra mile to ensure that stakeholders are provided with a good HR service.


Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Qualified to CIPD qualification – Level 5.
  • Experience dealing with employee relation issues and an understanding of Employment Law in practice
  • Previous experience in a HR generalist role
